Upcoming Spanish Love Songs Shows:

episode 5-jared stinson of sic waiting

In this episode, I catch up with my pal Jared Stinson of San Diego's Sic Waiting while catching him open for Versus The World in Los Angeles back in February. We discuss Sic Waiting's plans for 2015, band member situation, and their plan for releasing new music this year periodically. One of those songs being "The Salesman" which Jared was kind enough to let me share with everyone listening to this episode. The song was recorded by Chris Chasse, formerly of Rise Against and Mastered by Paul Miner (Death by Stereo).

Sic Waiting or Jared (Dead Frets) play and tour constantly so keep an eye out for these guys playing your area really soon, including some dates in Costa Rica later this year.

My former Loser By Default band mates Jimmy and Andy Mojica, or "The Mo Bros" join me and panelist Matt "Mattress" Skinner for a fun discussion about the world of mosh pitting.  In the episode we share our personal experiences with pitting, some do's and don'ts, and Andy's dislike for certain people in the pit.

It's a fun episode. We'd also like to lift our glass and dedicate this podcast to our friend and Loser drummer Ricardo Luna. You have not seen a mosh pit until you've seen Ricardo at his best in the pit. We also go over Pour Habit, our dedication to Face to Face, and much much more. Give it a listen and give us a like over at www.facebook.com/myscenemyrules won't ya?!! Enjoy!.

Here is Sick Of It All's "Step Down" video which goes over different pitting styles. This is the video I reference during our conversation.  We incorrectly refer to "The Windmill" style as "Fighting the air". I also think Andy Mo is the classic "Pizza Maker" style mosher.  Like and discuss!

Episode 3 - versus the world

On this episode of the podcast, I got to interview Donald Spence (Crooks and Liars), Mike Davenport (The Ataris), and Tony Caraffa (Murderland). We talk the new record "Homesick/Roadsick" coming out in April on Kung Fung Records. We talk about their new single "Santa Margarita", Tony Sly, and a bbq they crashed with Metallica. Recorded live from the "Redwood Bar" in Downtown Los Angeles.

Arigma were my second guests for the MSMR Podcast.  Another band I happen to be in. Ricardo, Gabe, Alfred, and Steve all joined me in Apartment B studios to have a fun conversation about Arigma and what its like playing music in Los Angles and Orange County

In the podcast we discuss:

  • Band Origin
  • Arigma's Concept
  • Los Angeles vs. Orange County Music Scenes

Episode 1 - Gadget Car

Los Angeles' Gadget Car joins me in Apartment B Studios for the first episode of the My Scene/My Rules Podcast. I'm currently a member of the band, and I thought Gadget Car would be the perfect band to start my podcast with.

In the podcast we discuss:

  • Band History
  • The L.A. and Recording Scene
  • Gadget Car plays an acoustic version of their song "Neat"

Gadget Car plays an acoustic rendition of their song "Neat". Recorded exclusively for myscene/my rules.
